Do I need a separate account for each Ontario online casino I want to play at, or is there a single sign-on?

The real concern behind this question is usually one of two things: either the hassle of signing up over and over again, or a worry that playing on multiple sites somehow puts you outside the rules. Let's clear both up.
Yes — a separate account at each site, by design
Ontario's regulated market is a competitive, multi-operator model, not a single-platform system. Once you've chosen a regulated site to play on, you need to sign up for a player account there. The process can differ slightly from one operator to the next, but at minimum you'll be asked for personal information that goes through an identity verification process. That verification has to clear before your account is live.
The AGCO's own standards make the structure explicit: players may have only one player account with any given operator. One account per site — not one account across all sites. Each site has its own digital wallet where you deposit funds and withdraw, and you set that up the first time you fund your account. There is no shared wallet or cross-site balance.
There's no universal login or single sign-on that covers the whole Ontario market. Being a fully registered operator means having passed registration with the AGCO and signed an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario — but each operator runs its own independent platform and player-account infrastructure.
What IS centralized: responsible-play tools
While accounts are separate, Ontario has built meaningful centralization on the player-protection side. iGaming Ontario has launched BetGuard, a tool that enables individuals aged 19 and older to voluntarily opt out of all Ontario regulated online gaming platforms through one online portal. By opting out through BetGuard.ca, players are prevented from accessing existing accounts, creating new accounts, or receiving marketing communications from any regulated iGaming site in Ontario.
So while signing up requires separate steps at each site, stepping back requires only one. All iGaming operators in Ontario participate in BetGuard, and operators are also required to have their own individual self-exclusion program that meets the AGCO's standards. That means you have both a market-wide opt-out and a site-level one available to you at every regulated operator.
Practical things to know
- Each operator will have its own unique set of tools and options, but one thing they all share is deposit, loss, and time limits — required by the AGCO's standards regardless of which site you're on.
- You must be physically located in Ontario to play on any of these regulated sites.
- You can verify that a site is legitimate by checking iGaming Ontario's official operator directory at igamingontario.ca. Every regulated site will display the iGaming Ontario and BetGuard logos, which confirm the site is managed by iGaming Ontario and regulated by the AGCO.
If you ever feel your play is getting away from you across multiple sites, BetGuard at BetGuard.ca is the single switch that covers the entire regulated market. You can also reach ConnexOntario any time at 1-866-531-2600 for confidential support.
